Q. Why can’t I see the computer with my bifocals?A. Bifocals have a power to see far away and to see at about 14 to 16 inches. Most computers are set at about 30 inches away. We can easily calculate the power you need to see the computer clearly and make lenses for that use.
Q. Do I need polarized lenses?
A. They are the best at cutting glare, so for people who are on the water or are particularly bothered by glare they are of a big benefit.
Q. Can I get any glasses today?
A. Yes, we can make about 98% of any lens requirements in our lab the day it is ordered.
Q. What are progressive lenses?
A. Progressive lenses have no lines of power separation but give you clearer vision at all distances.
Q. I experience halos around lights at night.
A. Two things cause these- eyeglasses and cataracts. The halos caused by the eyeglass lens can be eliminated with an anti-reflective coating.
Q. How often should I have my eyes checked?
A. Every year and not longer than two years.
Q. Is the prescription for eyeglasses the same as contacts?
A. No- The prescriptions are different and cannot be interchanged.
Q. Is gray or brown polarized best for fishing?
A. Usually gray is best for deep water and brown is best when the sea bottom is visible.
Q. Can I keep my old prescription eyeglasses?
A. It is never a good idea to go between two different prescriptions. If you change your primary pair you should change any additional pair you will be wearing.
